Agronomy Truck Driver
Job Summary of Agronomy Truck Driver:
This role is responsible for delivering grain and fertilizer to local customers in a safe, timely, and professional manner. The position requires operating within compliance standards and supporting operational duties as needed. This position is based onsite.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Agronomy Truck Driver:
- Ensure accurate and timely pick-up and deliveries to customers.
- Assist with loading or unloading materials as needed.
- Provide professional customer service and promptly handle customer concerns.
- Follow all local, state, and federal regulations including pre-trip and post-trip inspections, load securement, and hours of service compliance.
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicle and work environment.
- Document daily maintenance inspections and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
- Promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Report all incidents, accidents, or traffic violations to the supervisor immediately.
- Participate in CHS random drug and alcohol testing and Continuous Monitoring Program.
- Assist operational staff and perform other assigned duties, including intercompany driving.
Qualifications and Experience of Agronomy Truck Driver:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in supply chain, procurement, transportation, or logistics.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to obtain or maintain a CDL and DOT medical card.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Availability to work additional hours, overnight stays, and occasional weekends.
- Valid Class A CDL preferred.
- Hazmat, tanker, and air brake endorsements preferred.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Experience with bulk liquid, pressure trailers, or forklifts preferred.
- Agriculture background preferred.
- Pre-employment screening may be required based on job requirements and industry standards. Screenings may include drug testing, criminal background check, motor vehicle report, physical assessment, and FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
