Freight Associate
Job Summary of Freight Associate:
You will be responsible for assisting with warehouse tasks like picking orders, packing products, assembling items, sorting inventory, shipping items, and receiving deliveries. This role is critical in achieving the productivity and quality targets of the facility while maintaining efficient operations in a fast-paced environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Freight Associate:
- Review manufacturing agendas, customer orders, task lists, shipping instructions, or procurement requests to establish the items earmarked for movement or retrieval.
- Shift materials and items from delivery or production zones to specified storage areas.
- Categorize and arrange goods by SKU, quantity, and type of product.
- Move items efficiently by operating an electric pallet jack and stand-up forklift as needed.
- Ascend to a height of 25 feet on a cherry picker while secured in a safety harness.
- Maintain open lines of communication with receivers, drivers, and forklift operators for seamless coordination.
- Follow safety practices for truck and trailer transport operations.
- Place goods in designated areas within the warehouse for easy retrieval.
- Maintain and be responsible for company-issued equipment, including personal protective equipment and voice communication devices.
- Notify about any hazards that may compromise safety at work.
- Adhere to the mandatory dress code by wearing the uniform provided by the company.
- Compile clients’ orders using available stock and organize for shipment.
- Assign identification markers to the pallets and open containers when deemed necessary.
Qualifications and Experience of Freight Associate:
- - The basic requirements are a high school diploma, GED, or a combination of education and experience that is considered equivalent.
- Competency in utilizing an electric pallet jack and stand-up forklift.
- Expertise in using a cherry picker to ascend 25 feet, ensuring safety through the use of a harness.
- Strong aptitude for teamwork and communicating proficiently.
- Proficiency in adapting to the pace and physical requirements of a demanding work environment.
