Job Summary of Hazmat CDL Driver:
CHS Inc. is seeking a qualified team member to deliver propane and refined fuels to local fuel stations and support warehouse operations as needed. This role emphasizes safe transportation, regulatory compliance, and a high standard of customer service. The position is home daily with occasional weekend shifts depending on business needs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Hazmat CDL Driver:
- Ensure that all deliveries are completed punctually, securely, and in a professional way.
- Ensure adherence to transportation statutes outlined by local, state, and federal authorities, including conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing loads proficiently, and maintaining compliance with the hours of service.
- Assist with warehouse logistics when not out on deliveries.
- Be open to working additional hours or weekends as needed to support the business’s needs.
- Strengthen the commitment to safety by following established safety procedures and diligently identifying workplace hazards.
- Aid team members and handle additional responsibilities as instructed.
Qualifications and Experience of Hazmat CDL Driver:
- A valid Class A CDL is a prerequisite for consideration.
- It is essential to have a high school diploma or equivalent GED.
- Ensuring the minimum age condition is mandatory.
- Preferred qualifications include a Class A CDL along with endorsements in Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brakes.
- Fulfilling the obligations specified by both the DOT and the company is vital for driver approval.
- Aptitude for reading, writing, and articulating ideas clearly in English.
- Ability to be available for extended hours and occasional weekends if the need arises.
- Experience with bulk liquid transport preferred.
- Before hiring, screening processes may involve drug testing, background verification, scrutiny of motor vehicle records, physical criteria, and validation through the FMSCA Clearinghouse.
